(OBS this is NOT including yarn)
When designing knitwear for machine production, we often encounter limitations - but not with this piece. The Læsø Sweater features a polo collar that can’t be produced on the knitting machines available to us in Denmark. It’s also defined by its distinctive raglan sleeves, which extend in a clean diagonal line from the collar, rather than being traditionally knitted or sewn on.
Læsø holds a special place in our hearts. We spent every childhood summer there, and it’s where our parents went on their honeymoon. The island has a unique atmosphere and unforgettable scents. For us, Læsø represents the dream of a simple life, close to nature, sea, and forest, wrapped in a beautiful knit.
SIZE:
One size
½ CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE:
55 cm
LENGTH:
62 cm
SUGGESTED NEEDLES:
3.5 mm circular needle, 60 or 80 cm
4.5 mm circular needle, 80 cm
GAUGE:
16 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm in seed stitch on 4.5 mm needles.
Please note that needle sizes are guidelines. If you knit tighter than the gauge, use larger needles; if you knit looser, use smaller needles.
YARN:
Triple, 900 g from Hjelholt Spinning Mill.
CONSTRUCTION:
Læsø is worked top-down with cables along the raglan increases. Once the yoke is complete, the cables continue down the body. The sleeves and body are worked in the round according to the charts and finished with a snug rib. Finally, stitches are picked up for the collar.
Note that the charts are worked once in height, and the numbers marked in black indicate the total number of rounds in the project.
You will receive your knitting pattern immediately by e-mail.
If the file is opened, your purchase cannot be returned.
Happy knitting!
